I’m a sociologist and organizational inequality researcher (she/her) who investigates how workplaces create, sustain, and legitimize social inequalities. I currently lead a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at the Institute of Economic and Social Research (WSI). In this project we trace how the COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped the gendered division of labor and what that means for long-term gender inequality in the labor market.

My research examines relational inequalities in the labor market, with a focus on how organizational norms, rules, regulations, and interactional processes (re)produce and legitimize disparities between categorically distinct groups, such as those based on gender or migration background. To investigate these dynamics, I leverage Linked Employer-Employee and register data, employing advanced quantitative research methods.
